Law Day Fun
Posted in Hype on Sunday April 27 2008 @ 6:59pm
Law Day is May 2. This year's theme is The Rule of Law.
It's the 50th anniversary of the holiday, which makes us feel very young. It's nice to be younger than something!
If you do nothing more than send a cash-stuffed card plus something from Green and Black's for your favorite law-loving people (just saying), check out the map of Law Day events. Guam is huge! Alaska is teeny and floating around the southwest of Arizona! Puerto Rico looks like Pennsylvania on steriods! And alas, there are no Law Day events in Ohio (according to the map -- we may well have Law Day cocktail hour on the porch if it's nice out, so stop by!).
Planning guides are available for themes from this and other Law Day; the link includes a list of themes since 1969.
Not to be outdone by Hallmark, the ABA has a Law Day Store selling Rule of Law yo-yos, mugs, backpacks, balloons, postcards (send one to a despot!), and carabiners: the keychains of the future!!!.
