Blog of the Week(end): f/k/a
Posted in Hype on Saturday May 17 2008 @ 8:36pm
Haiku, tulips-r-us, local news from non-NYC New York, oh, and lawyer stuff: that's what f/k/a is made of.
The layout is an amazing thing, sort of a text/graphic illustration of a train of thought that would make e.e. proud. Small avatar-esque pictures (a photo of a mug reading "kill all the lawyers!", a baseball player, ice skaters, a parking meter...) add to the dreamlike quality.
Lots of wonderful poetry here, too! If you thought you knew what a haiku was, guess again. f/k/a calls its "genuine haiku and senryu" "one-breath poetry."
We've never found f/k/a blogger David Giacalone "occasionally cranky," but that is, in part, how he describes himself. We find f/k/a a breath of fresh air: no screeching headlines, no thousand-mile-long blogroll, an aeolian harp among blogs and blawgs.
Enjoy!
Note: court-o-rama is experiencing technical difficulties to the tune of "laptop fell off the side of the couch and landed right on its keester." The keester of a mac, if you must know, is the orifice where the magnetized adapter plugs in; both adapter and orifice were damaged in the accident. A new part will arrive Tuesday; until then we are running on borrowed battery time.
